Shouldn’t my bookkeeper be local?
The owner of KC Business Books can meet in person with all local businesses if they prefer. However, bookkeepers do not need to be right around the corner to provide superior service! Since all work is done online and all documents can be sent electronically, there is no need to physically meet with your bookkeeper.
Is this as effective as having an in-house bookkeeper?
Yes! Hiring KC Business Books is just as effective as having someone doing your books in house, but cheaper! Small businesses can save a substantial amount of money by hiring remote help. This means the business is not responsible for the cost of medical benefits, employement taxes, work space, or office supplies for the bookkeeper. Remote work also allows the business the flexibility of only paying for exactly the amount of time needed for their books, no extra hours.

QuickBooks Online is the preferred software due to the shared data access, data security, and the user friendly nature of the functions. QuickBooks Online offers several different plans to fit your specific business needs.

Yes. All data is stored on secure servers. With 24/7 monitoring, all your data is backed up using the Intuit servers which include encryption and firewalls to keep all data safe.

Do I need a bookkeeper if I have an accountant? What’s the difference between the two?
KC Business Books can do both! This means we are responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping transactions that keep your company running such as invoicing and processing payables. We can also serve as your accountant by filing all your business taxes and preparing financial statements. If you currently have an accountant that you would like to continue using, we will work closely with that accountant to make sure they have everything needed during tax season.
